Uniform Spacing

When Uniform Spacing Enabled is checked, data points are resampled to a uniform spacing. Set the size of the spacing by checking Enable Custom Spacing and setting Custom Spacing Interval to the desired value (see below).

On G5 sensors, when Uniform Spacing Enabled is unchecked, multilayer data is not available. If you need multilayer data, you must check this setting.

For more information on uniform spacing, see Uniform Data and Point Cloud Data.

When uniform spacing is disabled, the sensor outputs unprocessed data. The sensor reports data points in (x, z) coordinate pairs.

Disable uniform spacing to get data from the sensor at the highest possible rate.

The Y offset, X angle, and Z angle transformations cannot be non-zero when Uniform Spacing is unchecked. Therefore, when aligning a sensor using a bar alignment target with Uniform Spacing unchecked, set the Degrees of Freedom setting to X, Z, Y Angle, which prevents these transformations from being non-zero.

The spacing interval is the user-configured spacing between data points in uniform data. A larger interval also reduces the data output rate.

You can set the spacing interval to a custom value if you check Enable Custom Spacing Interval and set the value.
